life's obstacles told through the eyes of Polio Survivors.



Need for Financial Support!

“Doing the impossible” has always been a driving force behind those who had polio. This hour-long documentary will provide historical insight into the reaction of local communities and the nation during the polio epidemic.  It will chronicle the eradication of polio in the United States and efforts to do so on a world-wide basis.  The film will forever capture the stories of area survivors, including their experiences, hopes, and struggles to live in a society which was “paralyzed” with fear during the height of one of the most dreaded diseases in American history.

“EPIDEMIC” will serve as an educational tool for nurses, physicians, and others entering the medical profession.  It will inform the present population and future generations who have never faced a disease that permanently affected thousands of American lives.  Finally, this documentary will speak to all those who are reaching out for all that life has to offer, regardless of their age.

This documentary "trailer" or "short" was shown at the International Post-Polio Health Conference held at Warm Springs, GA in April 2009. We continue to seek funding for the completion of the project. Currently we are in need of about $9000.00. If you can help, please contact us.
